Welcome to The Dough. By accessing or using our website (thedough.co.za) or purchasing any products or services from us, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

  • “We”, “us”, “our” refers to The Dough (PTY) Ltd.
  • “You”, “your” refers to any customer, user, or visitor to our website.
  • “Products” refers to sourdough loaves, perishable items, tools, equipment, and any goods sold by The Dough.
  • “Services” refers to baking classes, workshops, wholesale supply, and any other services delivered by us.

2. Use of Our Website

By using our website, you agree not to:

  • Use the site for unlawful purposes
  • Interfere with its functionality
  • Copy or distribute any content without permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data

We reserve the right to restrict access, suspend accounts, or remove content at our discretion.

3. Products & Availability

All products shown on our website are subject to:

  • Availability
  • Seasonal changes
  • Natural variation (especially handmade items such as sourdough loaves)

We may update, change, or discontinue products at any time.

4. Pricing

All prices are stated in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time without prior notice.

5. Orders & Payment

We accept payment through the methods provided at checkout.
By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are legally authorised to make the purchase
  • The information you provide is accurate
  • Payment is complete before delivery

Orders may be cancelled or refunded if payment is not received or if fraudulent activity is suspected.

6. Delivery & Collection

Delivery timeframes are estimates.
We are not liable for:

  • Delays caused by couriers
  • Incorrect delivery details provided by the customer
  • Damage caused after delivery or collection

Once delivered or collected, goods become the responsibility of the customer.

7. Perishable Goods

Perishable goods (including sourdough and food items):

  • Cannot be returned due to health and safety regulations
  • Are eligible for refund or replacement only if damaged, expired, or incorrect on arrival

You must notify us within 24 hours with photos and your order number.

8. Returns on Tools & Non-Perishables

Tools and non-perishable goods may be returned within 14 days, provided they are:

  • Unused
  • In original packaging
  • In resellable condition

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.

9. 6-Month Warranty (Tools Only)

Tools and equipment include a 6-month warranty in line with the CPA.
This covers manufacturing defects but excludes:

  • Misuse
  • Accidental damage
  • Wear and tear
  • Failure to follow care instructions

We may repair, replace, or refund depending on the nature of the defect.

10. Sourdough Classes & Workshops

By booking a class, you acknowledge that:

  • Dates and times may change based on availability
  • Classes are non-refundable but may be rescheduled (minimum 48 hours notice)
  • You assume responsibility for your own safety and any allergies

We are not liable for:

  • Injuries sustained during classes
  • Allergic reactions
  • Damage to personal property

11. Wholesale Terms

Wholesale customers agree to:

  • Meet minimum order quantities (where applicable)
  • Provide accurate business details
  • Handle and store bread according to quality guidelines

Wholesale pricing and delivery arrangements are customised and may vary.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including text, images, branding, logos, and product descriptions—is the property of The Dough (PTY) Ltd and may not be reused without written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Losses caused by misuse of products
  • Allergic reactions or dietary issues
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Delays or disruptions beyond our control

Our total liability will not exceed the value of your order.

14. Privacy

We respect your privacy and comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Any personal information you provide will be used only for order processing, communication, and necessary record-keeping.
