At The Dough, we are committed to transparent, fair, and reliable delivery practices in accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA). As we supply both freshly baked perishable goods and non-perishable tools and equipment, different delivery terms apply depending on the product type.

🥖 1. Delivery of Perishable Goods (Bread & Food Items)

Perishable goods, including all sourdough loaves and food products, are available for delivery within Gauteng only.

Order Cut-Off Time & Handling

  • Orders must be placed before 14:00
  • Handling time: up to 24 hours from order confirmation before dispatch or delivery

Delivery Areas

✔️ Gauteng Province only

Due to freshness requirements and food safety considerations, orders containing perishable goods cannot be completed at checkout where a delivery address outside Gauteng is entered.

Perishable goods are not available for nationwide delivery.

  • Free delivery within Gauteng

Delivery Conditions

  • Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address
  • Someone must be available to receive the delivery
  • Perishable items will not be left unattended unless prior written approval has been given

Once delivery has been completed or the order has been collected, responsibility for the product transfers to the customer.

📦 2. Delivery of Tools, Equipment & Non-Perishable Goods

Non-perishable goods are shipped nationwide within South Africa.

Order Cut-Off Time & Handling

  • Handling time: up to 24 hours from order confirmation before dispatch

Delivery Fees (Non-Perishable Goods)

  • Orders under R1,000R99 flat-rate shipping
  • Orders of R1,000 or moreFree nationwide delivery

Delivery Timeframes

  • Courier transit time: 2–5 working days from dispatch

Courier Services

We make use of reputable third-party courier partners. Tracking information will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

🚚 3. Combined Orders (Perishable + Non-Perishable Items)

Where an order includes both perishable and non-perishable products, the following conditions apply:

  • Perishable goods can only be ordered for delivery to addresses within Gauteng
  • If a delivery address outside Gauteng is entered at checkout, orders containing perishable items cannot be completed
  • Customers wishing to purchase non-perishable goods for delivery outside Gauteng must place a separate order containing only non-perishable products
  • Where a combined order is placed for delivery within Gauteng, items may be dispatched and delivered in separate shipments
  • Delivery charges are calculated per product category, not on the combined order value

Example:

  • Delivery address within Gauteng:Perishable goods: Free local deliveryNon-perishable goods under R1,000: R99 courier fee
  • Delivery address outside Gauteng:Perishable goods: Not availableNon-perishable goods under R1,000: R99 courier fee (separate order required)

❗ 4. Delivery Responsibilities & Limitations

To ensure successful delivery, customers must:

  • Verify delivery details before checkout
  • Ensure someone is available to receive deliveries

In accordance with the CPA, The Dough (PTY) Ltd cannot be held liable for:

  • Failed deliveries resulting from incorrect or incomplete address details
  • Spoilage of perishable goods where delivery was attempted but no recipient was available
  • Courier delays or disruptions outside of our reasonable control
